Bill Withers, Grandma’s Hands

Still on the subject of the mighty Banana Record, Yokohama, I picked up a (yet again) mint condition Bill Withers best-of comp during my crate digging. I forget the price but probably around 800 yen, or 10 of your Kiwi dollars.

You can never have too much Bill Withers, and one of the tunes this comp had that my Bill-on-vinyl collection lacked is this beautiful classic, Grandma’s Hands.

I love Bill’s introductory chat in the clip below too – a truly delightful man. If you haven’t yet seen the excellent Still Bill biopic, go here immediately and buy it.)
