At a recent back to ours, the challenge was thrown down… well, actually I challenged myself, but hey, my house, my rules… Sorry, where were we? Ah yes. A musical challenge. With the assembled party planning to attend the Lucky Cloud Loft Party the following night, it seemed only appropriate to soundtrack the gathering with tunes of such exquisite beauty that they wouldn’t sound out of place played through the famously sublime sound system that graced the Loft. (Plus it was a good chance to show off our turntable, also a thing of rare beauty.)
The records selected were so sonically transcendent that the room fell silent (aside from our beloved MikeyRay, who never shuts up, bless him) to sit and contemplate their wonder. Admittedly there had been fearsome quantities of alcohol involved but I think these records would pass the sober light of day test.
It feels sacrilegious to be linking to YouTube videos in a post all about the wonders of great sound, but to help counter this, I’ve listed where you can find these records so you can play them through your own quality home audio system. Alternatively just get a ticket to the next Lucky Cloud and cross your fingers.
